Celkon Millennium Vogue Q455 Review

Celkon Millennium Vogue Q455 comes with a 4.5 inch IPS OGS display, powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. Q455 runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat and has got 16GB of internal storage. Q455 is offered for Rs.7,999.

In The Box : Celkon Q455 box contains the handset, battery, charger, USB cable, user manual, warranty card, in-ear type headphones. The headphones are not so good but you can use your headphones and get better sound quality.

Design : Q455 is pretty slim at 7.9mm throughout. Sides and back have a soft rubbery touch. The 3.5mm jack is at the top, volume rockers and power button are at the right, micro USB and mic are at the bottom. This phone has single mic. There is absolutely nothing on the left side. It has three touch buttons : Home, back and the menu button. They are not backlit. Buttons are white and are not visible under dark light conditions. The handset weighs 130 grams with battery. The handset can be easily handled with one hand.

Display and Sound : The qHD IPS OGS display on the Q455 supports resolution of 540 x 960 pixels giving a pixel density of ~245ppi. It supports Full HD (1080p) playback. The IPS display is bright and is easily readable under bright sunlight. The speaker is clear but not loud.

Processor and OS : It runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat on a Quad Core Broadcom BCM23550 processor clocked at 1.2GHz with VideoCore IV GPU. The UI is very close to Stock.

Camera : It has an 8MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front facing camera. Rear camera comes with Auto Focus and single LED flash. The rear camera is capable of recording in 1080p. You can capture an image while recording by tapping on the screen. The front camera works poorly in low light.

  Camera Samples coming soon….

Storage :

Q455 has got 16GB of internal storage out of which 1.94GB is reserved for apps and 11.44GB for data, and 1GB of RAM.

This much amount of internal storage is hard to find on devices in this price range. Q455 also supports USB OTG functionality. I had no difficulty transferring data from phone to pen drive and the reverse using a 32GB sony pen drive formatted with FAT32.

Celkon Q455 comes pre-installed with a number of apps including Truecaller. Most of these apps can be disable but cannot be uninstalled. Celkon should allow for their removal to clear up space and RAM.

Benchmark Scores :

Quadrant Benchmark : 2593

Antutu Benchmark : 14887

Nenamark2 : 42.9 fps

Linpack : single 35.433 , multiple 112.972

Multi Touch : 5 point

The device needs some optimisation. If we are able to uninstall bloatware, the device is expected to perform better.

Connectivity : It supports 3G, 2G, WiFi, Bluetooth, micro USB and a 3.5mm earphones jack. It allows USB, Bluetooth tethering and WiFi hotspot. It has a dual SIM slot. It supports one micro SIM and one regular sized SIM (mini SIM). It supports 3G on both the SIMs and dual standby.

Gaming :

I was able to play most games without any lag like Temple Run 2, Smash Hit, Angry Birds but the device showed lag on high-end games like Asphalt 8.

Sensors :

Celkon Q455 comes with Proximity, Light and G sensors. The light sensor is quick in action.

Battery :

Q455 is fueled by a 2000mAh battery. Celkon claims 8 hours of talktime on this phone. I was able to get through the day with moderate usage on single SIM.

At this price point, Celkon Q455 offers much more internal storage (16GB vs 4GB on others). The thin design and light weight make this device easy to handle and operate even though it is longer than other phones with the same screen size.

Availability and Price : Celkon Millennium Vogue Q455 is available online for Rs.7,999. You can buy from here.
